Dear Sweet Elodie Alene,
We cannot believe you are two years old! You’re growing into a beautiful and intelligent little girl.
You are definitely a toddler with your short temper and everything is “mine.” Despite the beginnings of your “terrible two’s,” you still have such a sweet heart. You’re never shy with your hugs and kisses. You never fail to run to “mommy” or “daddy” and give us a big hug when we see you after work. You still love to cuddle. You’re favorite thing to do is cuddle up with us on the couch and watch one one of your favorite tv shows.
You’re speaking more and more everyday. You’re starting to recognize your colors; your favorites are purple and orange. You love to read, paint, color, bounce (on our beds), play in your new play kitchen, and play with all your stuffed animals. You love stickers, markers (or your “marks”), dancing, singing, baths, and eating junk that’s not good you.
During your second year of life you had many firsts. You were in your first wedding, you rode on an airplane for the first time, we went trick-or-treating for the first time, you used the potty (and are now potty trained) for the first time, you went to the beach, and you started gymnastics.
These past 2 years have been the best of our lives. You gave us the best gift ever 2 years ago by coming into our lives, and hopefully we can spoil you to death to try and repay you for giving us the privilege of being your parents.
While being parents to a toddler, who n.e.v.e.r sits still isn’t always the easiest job in the world, we know our world is a much better place by having you in it. You’re a beautiful little girl, who is going to grow into a wonderful young lady. You’re mommy’s little mini-me and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
One day (although not anytime soon), you’re going to make a wonderful big sister. We love experiencing childhood all over again through you and can’t wait to watch you with another little Watson running around, teaching him/her everything you know.
Happy birthday, sweet baby girl. You’re the best. We can’t wait to celebrate at your party this weekend.
