A few weeks ago, my friend Jennifer suggested running a 5k together. We signed up for the first annual Bee Brave 5k race, which benefits the Mary Kay Foundation.
Chris decided at the last minute that he wanted to join us, so we all bundled up to face the 30-40 degree weather, and headed out to run.
Elodie, snuggled & ready to run!
Chris was pushing the jogging stroller, and finished with a great time of 24:52.

Jennifer and I stayed together and finished with a time of 32:39 (she, being one step ahead of me, had a time of 32:38).

Chris managed to clench the 1st place spot in his age division!! Pretty awesome for him, considering he took that little cutie for a ride!
Getting his medal: first in his age division
I finished faster than the last 5k I ran and Jennifer’s goal was to run the whole thing. I think we all accomplished something great with this race!

We had a great time participating in the inaugural race and would love to do it again next year.
Just added 3.1 more miles to my goal of 400 for the year. 🙂
We got Elodie’s hair cut for the first time today! Within the last few months, it’s gotten super long & it was time to freshen it up.
We took her to a fun, just for kids, salon, Hairy’s Salon.
Sitting in the car chair… for a few minutes
There were cute chairs where the kids could sit and they put on an Elmo movie to keep her entertained as well. Sitting in the chair didn’t last long & I had to hold her for most of the hair cut, but she was great!

It doesn’t look too different, it just needed a little trim.
When she was all done she got a prize out of a treasure box and a lollipop! What a lucky girl 🙂
Well, this month has kind of gotten away from me. I apologize for the absence.
Unfortunately, there’s not a lot to chat about. The weather here has been cold and gloomy. We’ve been hanging out inside a lot, watching football, working and etc.
Here’s a snapshot of our lives the past couple of weeks.
Catch Air has been our best friend due to the yucky weather.

We brought in the new year in style.. with donuts!

Elodie is looking awfully grown up in this one!

We moved Elodie up into a big girl class at gymnastics. She’s no longer in the parent-tot class, but a 30-mintue class all on her own! Luckily we have the same teacher, so she’s adjusting to it pretty well. This past week was her 2nd week and a few of her friends from the parent-tot class also moved up with her. They were so stinking cute.

The past few weekends in a row, we’ve had friends come over to watch the Falcons’ games. We love spending time with our great friends, especially when they entertain our child 🙂
Hope you all are well. Don’t forget about us over here, I’ll get better about updating more often!
Happy Twenty-Thirteen, y’all!
We had fun last night ringing in the new year with some good friends.

New Year’s Resolutions:
As I check things off my Pre-pregnancy bucket list, these are some things I want to highlight as “resolutions” for the new year
1) Buy a House: We’re in a better place to actually accomplish this one this year. So, once we get our tax refund & put that money into our down payment savings fund, we’ll probably start looking.
2) Have a baby: Nope, still not pregnant yet, but hopefully this will be the year for Baby Watson #2.
3) Run 400 miles: I was reading some blog, (I can’t remember which one) where she had a goal of running 400 miles in a year. If you calculate this, it’s about 7 miles per week. This doesn’t seem like a huge commitment per week, so I’m hoping it’s doable.
What are some resolutions you have?
Have a great new year!
