Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! We had my mom, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew over for an Easter brunch today. The Easter bunny was good to our kids, so we played with new toys, ate candy & hunted eggs all morning.

Halloween 2013

I’m about 2 weeks late in posting this, but better late than never, right?

Here are some scenes from our Halloween this year! My nephew, Josiah, came over to join the Watson kiddos for some Halloween fun! This was our first Halloween in our new neighborhood & it was a blast! We live in the perfect neighborhood for kiddos, minus all the hills.

And, since we were all out with the kids trick-or-treating, we still wanted to give other kids candy too, so we left some bowls of candy & a sign a-la Parks and Rec.

If you've been to our house & seen our driveway, you know kids don't want to walk up to ring our doorbell. This was the easiest solution at the bottom of our driveway.

Elodie did so great with her “TRICK OR TREAT”‘s & saying “Thanks!” at every house. It was such a fun evening. Just for fun, here’s a look at last year’s Halloween.

Hope your Halloween was great!

I owe y’all some updates of our house, family & etc. Sorry!

Is anyone still reading this thing… do you want updates? 🙂

Christmas 2012

We had a small Christmas this year. It was just us, my mom, and the Williams (my sister, bro-in-law and nephew, Josiah.) We loved spending time together and watching the kiddos interact. Elodie was filled with pure joy for days as she opened up and played with all of her new goodies. Experiencing Christmas through a child’s eyes is so much more magical and exciting than I ever remember experiencing myself. I can only imagine that it will get better and better as she grows up!

Christmas started a few days before when presents arrived from Grandma & Grandpa. We couldn’t help but let her open (most) of them early.

Leap Pad from Grandma & Grandpa. Apparently these are a hot commodity among the kiddos. Lucky girl.

Then, the Williams’ came into town & we enjoyed their company for a few days leading up to Christmas. I know my mom was so happy to have both her daughters, sons-in-law and grandbabies under one roof for several days!

And just for fun.. here are some videos we got. Notice Elodie is hanging out with her trampoline in both of them. I think Santa picked out a great gift for her this year.

This was one was hilarious. For some reason she used her “wand” to make the magic tissues jump around. This kept us entertained for far longer than it should have. Thanks for being a good sport, Uncle Raef, who invented this game.

We had a great holiday!

Thanks for everyone who sent love to us here in GA, both in cards & gifts! We love you and hope you all had a great Christmas as well!

I can’t believe it’s all over until next year. Here’s to a great 2013!

Weekend with the Williams’

My sister, brother-in-law and nephew came into town for a couple of days this week. They were on fall break from school, and since we were not, our time with them was short! It’s always fun to see them and we haven’t since our road trip up north over the summer. Their little sweet boy, Josiah, is almost 6 months old & getting so big! Elodie loved him and my mom loved having all her babies and grandbabies together! Fun family time 🙂

FYI: this post has a ton of pictures!! Cuteness overload!

Friday night we had dinner at my moms and caught up.

Saturday we headed out to Cagles Family Farm, which is about a half hour north of where we live. We wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather and have some fall fun, and this was the perfect place to do both. The main attraction is a 3-mile corn maze (which is supposedly the largest corn maze in the world), and since none of us had ever done a corn maze before, we knew we had to check this one out.

There was lots to do prior to going through the corn maze. And, of course, Elodie had to check out every last thing. The first couple of things we did before going through the maze was check out some pumpkins, play in a corn kernel pit, ride a pony made from old tires, and bounce!

Elodie thinks she may want this pumpkin..

..or maybe this one

She really can’t decide which one she wants…

Yee-haw!

Now that we got all that out of the way, it was time for the corn maze. There were two “phases” to the corn maze: phase 1 & 2. Phase 1 was shorter, but once we got through the first phase no time, we needed to do the longer one too. There were signs posted throughout with random trivia facts on them; if you knew the trivia answer, it told you which way to go through the maze. Even though we knew most of the answers, we still had fun wandering around & getting lost.

Handsome hubs 🙂

We made it through both mazes with out getting too lost, but it was definitely fun walking around in circles at times. Put this on your fall to-do list. This place also has a haunted barn in the evenings & I’ve heard the corn maze is especially fun at night too, so even if you have no babies, it might be worth checking out.

Our last stop at Cagles was the hayride/farm tour. This was my least favorite part, but now we know not to worry about it next time.

Before we left Chris and I bought some pumpkins and we headed back home. Fun morning! If you do live in the area, Cagles is a fun place to check out, with or without kiddos. We will certainly be returning with Elodie.

Unfortunately, the Williams’ had to leave this evening to get back to Nashville. We had a great time with them and are excited to see them again soon!

Hope you’re enjoying fall!

Summer Road Trippin’: Part 1–Nashville

On our summer road trip up north, we left ATL on Monday afternoon to head to Nasvhille, TN to spend some time with my sister & her family. We were only in Nashville for 24 hours, but those 24 hours were jam-packed with fun! Here are some snapshots of our time in Nashville.

Tuesday was mine & Chris’ 2-year wedding anniversary, so we had a fun day celebrating our anniversary in Nashville.

Elodie reading + laptop for movies + Chris doing most of the drving = our road trippin’ set up

Once we got to Nashville, we unpacked and headed to the Adventure Science Center for some afternoon fun. This place was awesome! If you’re ever in Nashville with some kiddos, check this place out!

The next day, unfortunately my sister had to work, so we spent the day with Raef & JoJo. We went to a local park and visited the Parthenon. Since it was also our anniversary, the day was extra special!

Then, we got lunch before we headed out of town.

We hit the road that afternoon and drove until we got hungry/sleepy. We did manage to stop in Louisville, KY for a romantic anniversary dinner & some play time for Elodie.

We had a great 24 hours in Nashville! Thanks for the hospitality, Williams Family! Love ya and hope to see more of you next time!

I’ll be back sometime to update more of our summer trip.

In the meantime, we’re heading to the beach in the morning. Ready to get our fist pumping-Jersey Shoring on!
